This policy outlines the policies and systems established by North Star Language Services Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as “NSLS”) to ensure the proper protection and management of personal information, including ensuring that all employees are aware of the importance of proper data protection.

NSLS takes all measures necessary to ensure that customers’ personal information is accurate and up to date and prevent unauthorized access, loss, damage, falsification or leakages. These measures include the implementation of a security system, an information management system and comprehensive employee training.

Purpose of use

Customers’ personal information is used by NSLS to contact customers regarding products and services offered by NSLS, to respond to inquiries and to send and receive documents via email.

Prohibition of disclosure to third parties

NSLS ensures that customers’ personal information in its possession is managed appropriately and, in principle, does not disclose this information to any third parties. However, this information may be disclosed under the following circumstances:

  • When permission is given by the customer
  • When disclosure to a subcontractor is required in order to provide services requested by the customer
  • When NSLS is legally required to disclose information

NSLS has comprehensive measures in place to ensure the accuracy and security of the personal information in its possession.

Requests for disclosure

NSLS will respond to requests from customers to view, revise or delete their personal information after receiving proof of identity from the individual concerned.

Legal compliance and policy reviews

In addition to strict compliance with Japanese laws and other regulations relating to personal information in NSLS’s possession, the contents of this policy are reviewed as appropriate to implement any improvements that are needed.
