Chinese

Simplified Chinese: China, Singapore and Malaysia
Chinese is a group of languages with over 1 billion native speakers worldwide. The majority of varieties of Chinese feature four tones, with the meaning of each syllable differing depending on these differences in pitch. Often referred to as Mandarin Chinese in everyday English, Standard Chinese is the most widely used language throughout mainland China, including in Beijing, and is spoken by more than 70% of all native speakers of Chinese.
Traditional Chinese: Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau
Traditional Chinese characters are commonly used in Hong Kong and Taiwan. While spoken dialects vary between different areas, the written characters are used very similarly to their equivalents in simplified Chinese.
